ABOUT THE J LITTER Both Tess and Scout are gun dogs. Tess is used regularly on guided hunts here at Brush Dale and is a tireless, bird-finding machine who honors point naturally and tends to work fairly close. As a puppy, Tess had the most prey drive of any puppy we'd ever raised - Shorthairs included. She'll clean a field of birds in less time than it took to plant them! Tess has a staunch, classic point, and a great nose. Tess passed her NAVHDA Natural Ability Test with a Prize I. Tess has excellent physical structure and conformation, so she is very athletic and beautiful. Scout is an energetic, tireless, big searching (but highly cooperative) dog in the field. He has a staunch, correct point. Scout is a fantastic tracker with a terrific nose who honors point naturally. He is an exceptional natural retriever who retrieved his first rooster pheasant when he was 4 months old and has retrieved every bird shot over him, to hand, since.
