Buckley has a dense, soft, brown & white coat with lots of feathering. Austin weighs approximately 45 pounds and is 21.3" in height, which is at the lower-end of the height scale for males. Buckley has very good conformation, exceptional hunting skills, and an excellent temperament. Austin’s hips are certified from PennHIP, left is .32 and right is .41.
Buckley is an intense hunter with a great nose and a classic point. Buckley's hunting abilities are well-known among Munster owners. Buckley is generally hunted more than 30 days every year in the wide open fields of North Dakota and Kansas, often hunting 5-7 days in a row, from sun up to sun down. Without excellent physical structure, this would not be possible. Michelle and Mark have had the pleasure of hunting with Buckley at the annual SMCNA Fun Hunt and found him to be proficient at locating birds and stylish in doing so. He is beautiful to watch work a field. Buckley loves people and typically gets along well with other dogs.
Buckley has taken NAVHDA's Natural Ability (NAT) Test, but his scores are not representative of his hunting skills. They are indicative of an enthusiastic puppy and novice handler having a bad day. To really appreciate Buckley's hunting skills, you need to see him in the field. Click below to watch Buckley in action:
